Team manager Erik ten Hag and Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes joined in congratulating striker Ethan Wheatley on his debut with the senior team in the English Premier League win over Sheffield United. United 4-2 yesterday because he is the 250th man in Academy history.

“Wheatley almost assisted on a goal on his debut. I just accelerated the pace a little. Promise that next opportunity will help mold I just want to continue polishing myself. The goals will pile up into baskets.”

Specifically, being a local boy in the greater Manchester region, Wheatley is the 101st number United have pushed to play a senior game.
